Building a secret message encoder
Remix It
If you want to learn Morse code, this is a great way to do it. The use of a dichotomic search table (i.e., choosing between two distinct alternatives) lets you follow a path through a tree of choices, depending on whether the pulse is a dot or a dash, which helps you practice turning the pulses into letters and then words. You can see an example of such a tree online [3]. You can, of course, create your own encoded message rules based on individual characters or whole words. I always expect that you'll turn the ideas presented here into something cool, new, and unimagined by me. Happy Scratchin'.
