Conclusion
OSMC is a mature distribution based on Raspbmc. The skin developed especially for OSMC gives the media center an updated look, but introduces a few weaknesses that make navigation a bit more difficult.
If you are dedicating your Rasp Pi solely for use as a media center, you might want to choose OpenELEC, because it does not need an elaborate Debian foundation. However, if your Rasp Pi will be performing a variety of tasks in your local network, then distributions like OSMC are the only way to go. In this case, OSMC gets points for an ambitious scope of possible applications.
