Generation 2 of the Conference Presentation and Manipulation Apparatus

What's Next

The Conference Presentation and Manipulation Apparatus is an example of an evolving development project that serves a practical purpose for me. I think it's important to realize that the Raspberry Pi is a powerful and flexible enough platform that you can experiment easily with new ideas. Don't be reluctant to try a new approach, even if it just delivers incremental results.

In upcoming articles, I will continue the evolution with a wireless clicker (using the ESP8266 WiFi chip), upgrading to a`n RPi3, and maybe even adding some "transformer" mechanisms (e.g., raising the articulated camera arm with a motor) hooked to a few GPIO pins.

Through the magic of Linux, with its variety of programming frameworks and both desktop and command-line applications, you have a lot of tools in your toolbox to get the job done and lots of opportunities to integrate cool GPIO functions into your Rasp Pi-based desktop/portable device projects.
