Conclusion
Thanks to the number of packages that come with Raspbian, your image bank needs very little work to set up; you simply have to put it together. There are also many ways to take this project further – an FTP rather than a SAMBA server would be just as fast. Feel free to experiment and work out a setup that suits you.
Even if you decide not to take the Pi with you everywhere you go, this image bank works well as a home photo server. If you decide to do this, consider using authentication for the Samba server and consider using some more powerful image gallery software.
